Biography

Dr. Andrea Sealy is a Meteorologist at the Caribbean Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology (CIMH) and is a Senior Lecturer in Meteorology at the University of the West Indies (UWI), Cave Hill Campus, Barbados. 

She earned a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology from Jackson State University, a Master of Science in Meteorology from The Pennsylvania State University and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Atmospheric Sciences from Howard University. She has worked at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colorado as an Advanced Study Program Postdoctoral Fellow.

Dr. Sealy coordinates the dust and air quality activities conducted by the CIMH. She is the Chair of the Pan-American Regional Steering Group of the World Meteorological Organization Sand and Dust Storm Warning Advisory and Assessment System (WMO SDS-WAS), is a member of its global steering committee and serves on other WMO Expert Teams related to atmospheric composition activities.
