Ms. Asha Jones
Biography
Asha Jones is a Therapeutic Recreation Practitioner, founder of Living Legacy Wellness, and a member of Therapeutic Recreation Ontario and the Barbados Alzheimer Association. She holds a First Class Honours Diploma in Recreation Management in Gerontology from George Brown College, Toronto, where she received the Dean’s Medal of Honour, and a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management from The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus.
Asha has worked in long-term care in Toronto, Canada, supporting older adults through person-centred therapeutic recreation that promotes healthy aging, cognitive wellness, and quality of life, including for those living with dementia. She has completed specialized training in DementiAbility Methods™, U-First!, and Palliative Care in Dementia through the Alzheimer Society of Canada. She is currently completing the internationally recognized Canadian DementiAbility Trainer Certification, which will make her the first professional in the Caribbean qualified to deliver the DementiAbility Trainer Certification. She is also expanding her expertise in end-of-life care through the Home Hospice Association of Canada.
Through education, advocacy, and innovative therapeutic recreation practices, Asha is passionate about helping individuals, families, and communities embrace aging with purpose, dignity, and connection.
